Hip Hop Icon Craig Mack Dead at 46

Another legend is gone.

Craig Mack, Diddy protege and hip hop icon who brought us some of the most famous lines to ever come out of the genre has past.

Mack died of complications related to heart failure at age 46 in his South Carolina home. His former producer, Alvin Toney, confirmed the news.

Mack is largely known for his 1994 hit “Flava in Ya Ear,” which topped the charts. Diddy once remarked that “Craig is hip-hop’s George Clinton, because his stuff is really off the wall.”

He was a key figure in the growth of Diddy’s Bad Boy label in the 1990s.
