JAY-Z Clarifies Bars on Meek Mill’s “What’s Free”

JAY-Z doesn’t tweet much, but he took to Twitter to clarify the meaning of his bars on Meek Mill’s “What’s Free.”

Many were speculating about the meaning of Jay’s lyrics on the new Meek Mill album. He talked about Ye, and given their tumultuous past over the last few years, people weren’t sure if his bars were a diss or not.

On Meek’s CHAMPIONSHIPS album, Jay raps:

No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye
They separate you when got Michael and Prince’s DNA
I ain’t one of these house n—as you bought
My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours
My spo…c’mon man, my route better of course

Many immediately jumped the gun and declared it a diss:

With no tweets since 2017, he came through to clear the air by writing “The line clearly meant don’t pit me against my brothers no matter what our differences are (red hat) now go pick up Meek album . Drake and Meek on there together .”

In the end, this is giving fans hope that Throne 2 might still happen one day. Keep your fingers crossed!
