Kanye West Allegedly Told Radio Host he Had Been Addicted to Opiates

This story still isn’t over.

“Ebro in the Morning” host Ebro Darden claims that he spoke to Kanye West on the phone, and during the conversation about a range of topics, Kanye told him that during his 2016 admission to the hospital, he had been addicted to opiates. At the time, it was reported that he was admitted for exhaustion and dehydration, and it led to the canceling of the remainder of his tour. He also suffered fallout with longtime friend Jay-Z, and many speculated he was struggling with mental health issues after going on several strange rants during concerts, including about Jay-Z and his wife, Beyoncé.

He had been locked in a legal battle with his insurance company over the canceled shows, with them claiming that drugs were involved, which invalidated his policy. However, no proof was shown and many believed the drugs they alluded to were limited to marijuana.

Yeezy has been back in the spotlight after resuming his use of Twitter after a year of not using the platform, and he’s been quite active with it, live-tweeting a “book.”

He also caused controversy after tweeting support of conservative Candace Owens, saying “I love the way Candace Owens thinks.” She has been highly critical of the Black Lives Matter movement, and many of West’s followers were not too pleased with his opinion.
