Kanye West Banned From Detroit Radio

#MuteKanye is gaining steam.

Kanye West’s controversial comments about slavery being a choice have gotten a lot of backlash.

Now, Detroit radio station 105.1 has banned the rapper from its airwaves in response to his comments.

“We feel like Kanye has gone too far with his latest statement declaring that ‘slavery was a choice.’ We are over it,” hosts Shay Shay and BiGG posted on Facebook with the hashtag “Mute Kanye.”

“We don’t want to hear Kanye’s music, we don’t want to play Kanye on our show, we don’t want to talk about Kanye anymore. So we are taking a stand and we aren’t playing his music anymore; we just are refusing to give him a platform.”

New York radio station Hot 97 also tweeted that “the boycott of Kanye West has begun,” but did not say if the station was banning his music from the station.

We’re sure this isn’t the last we’ve heard from Kanye. Stay tuned for more.
