Lil Durk shocked fans after revealing that he would be turning himself in to police for a shooting at Atlanta’s Varsity restaurant on February 5th.

New details are now coming forward about the incident and Lil Durk’s future. Police have charged him with multiple felonies, including criminal intent to commit murder. He is also facing charges of aggravated assault, participation in gang activity, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a shooting.

These are all extremely serious charges that would likely put the rapper away for decades, if not life, if convicted.

Durk turned himself in to police in Atlanta May 30th. He has canceled all his pending shows, including Slumped Fest this weekend, as he prepared for what could be a lengthy battle.

Fans were caught off guard by the news. Many were less than sympathetic for the artist, instead telling him to wait until after he performs to turn himself in. Others told him to drop an album for he gets locked up for good.

Lil Durk has been largely free of legal drama for most of his rap career thus far. He did have an incident with a weapon he allegedly tossed from a vehicle during an incident with police in 2013. He was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Durk has made waves in rap since his entry into the music game. He is one of many rappers to be taken out of the game recently. Fellow Atlanta rapper YNW Melly was arrested on murder charges for the deaths of his two close friends in an attempted coverup. Rapper 6ix9ine is also in jail pending a slew of charges related to attempted murder and gang activity.

This story is still developing, so check back for the latest.
