For years, Lil Wayne has been battling Birdman and Cash Money Records over release of Carter V. The wait is finally over.

Recently, Birdman and Lil Wayne have been actively working towards improving their long-fractured relationship. After years of Wayne claiming the label owed him millions and Birdman refusing to drop the Carter V. All parties in the ongoing legal battle have agreed to drop the case, which will result in Wayne being officially released from Cash Money. This mean he will be free to FINALLY drop Carter V or whatever new project his heart desires.

Reports vary in the amount, but source reveal that Wayne’s settlement tops $10 million. This is really a drop in the bucket to the label which still distributes Drake and Nicki Minaj. They should have no trouble with the re-up.

Wayne is expected to drop The Carter V through Universal but will no longer be affiliated with Cash Money. This ends a long history of Wayne’s Cash Money relationship, which is tied closely to hits and lyrics over the years.
