Lupe Fiasco Apologizes to Obama, Kendrick Lamar, but Not One Person

Lupe Fiasco is having a change of heart…somewhat.

Lupe Fiasco is well-known as an outspoken activist who rarely holds his tongue on political and social matters. He even once called Obama a “terrorist.” “Let me apologize to Barack Obama, I’ve never done that,” he said in the video. He went on saying, “I should have just kept my personal or political opinion to myself. I come from radical politics. I don’t come from liberal centrist politics. My response was in line with the revolutionary response and how people view America outside of America.”

“Maybe I should have just left it alone. Even though my impetus was the ‘Control’ verse,” he said. “I mean you put yourself out there like that. So you opened yourself up to critique…. I apologize for even engaging and talking about n***as careers… I’ll never do that shit again.”

He also had criticism for Kendrick Lamar, saying “KDot is not a top tier lyricist to me and my standards when it comes to punchlines and bars. His overall lyrics are good his stories phenomenal BUT punchline entendre lyrically I don’t see it.” He apologized in the video for his comments about Kendrick as well, saying “Maybe I should have just left it alone. Even though my impetus was the ‘Control’ verse.” He went on, “I mean you put yourself out there like that. So you opened yourself up to critique…. I apologize for even engaging and talking about n***as careers… I’ll never do that shit again.” So while he did apologize for his ish talking on a public forum, he didn’t exactly retract any of the statements.

One person he doesn’t apologize to? Kid Cudi. “Fuck Cudi. Fuck that n***a. Forever,” he said, laughing. “That n**a will never get an apology from me. Fuck that bitch.”
