Meek Mill Arrested for Riding Motorcycle Recklessly

Meek Mill got attention he wasn’t looking for from the NYPD.

Cops were called on a group of motorcyclists popping wheelies and doing tricks in Manhattan. He had posted a video to his social media showing himself riding without a helmet, allowing police to identify him. They arrested him for reckless endangerment.

His lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, claims the rapper was wrongfully targeted by police because he’s famous.

“It really stinks of obvious targeting an individual who is a celebrity and maybe who law enforcement don’t like, and it’s not what the system is supposed to be about,” Tacopina said. He alleges prosecutors may seek felony reckless endangerment charges.

“If his name was John Smith, he wouldn’t have even been arrested,” the lawyer said. “You could go to 110th St. and Dyckman right now and you’ll see 10 kids popping wheelies on their bikes. Nobody gets arrested.”
